Parpounas Sustainability Consultants have concluded another successful project in Armenia. The Consultancy was employed by the American Chamber of Commerce in Armenia to provide a study on the “Armenian Packaging Waste Management Assessment and a guide to set-up a packaging waste management system based on the principle of EPR in Armenia”. The study was developed in full collaboration with the Chamber, key players from the Industry and other stakeholders and was delivered on schedule. On the 13th of April, the CEO of PSC Mr. Kyriakos Parpounas presented in the event in Yerevan the final report to the stakeholders. It was a high-profile event attended by two Deputy Ministers, representatives of the Municipality of Yerevan, representatives of Chambers and Associations and representatives of international organizations in Armenia (UNDP, USAID etc.). The study provides guidance with key steps for the implementation of EPR in the country and various scenarios and economic models for such implementation. One of the scenarios, combines the implementation of EPR with a DRS system for beverage packaging, as this is a potential option discussed in the country.
